Management Accountant | Gibraltar | On-Site. 

Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller: The Management Accountant will join the Financial Control team within the Finance Department and assist with the accounting for the P&L and related balance sheet accounts for multiple entities across the group. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the nuts and bolts of management accounting such as accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations etc. This person will build comprehensive knowledge of the player cycle, revenue generating activities, direct costs, marketing and other OPEX costs.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Control team

  • The main responsibilities of the team are covered below. We encourage applications, whether you have specialised in any one of these areas or have more general management accounting experience across several of the areas described.
  • Revenue and Player Cycle Accounting
  • Recording of all revenue across all brands in the group.
  • Reconciliations of player balances liaising with the PSP team and BI department to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Posting of entries to control accounts related to the gaming cycle making sure these are clearing correctly on a regular basis.

Costs

  • Periodic reporting of all costs including allocating these accurately across all brands and cost centres.
  • Interacting with the rest of the business to calculate direct/non-direct cost accruals (gaming license fees, sports data, gaming duty, PSPs, marketing, etc)
  • Performing checks to ensure that supplier invoices are correct and providing support to approving managers so they can understand their costs.
  • Capitalization of tangible/non-tangible items.
  • Regulatory Reporting/Submissions
  • Regulatory reporting to various authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Recording regulatory related transactions accurately in the accounting system
  • Systems, Controls and Other
  • Building knowledge of the gaming platform and other internal reporting systems.
  • Provide support and analysis to the Financial Planning & Analysis team on all areas relating to revenue and costs.
  • Provide support with revenue and cost related queries during annual audit and any additional ad hoc audit requirements.
  • Contribute to projects and implementations across the finance department and the wider business as required.
  • Provide cover for the rest of the finance team as and when required.

Person Specification, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Qualified /part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or AAT qualified.
  • Good technical accounting knowledge.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
  • A proactive approach: you should be motivated to take the initiative to make improvements.
  • Good understanding of financial principles and an ability to explain these to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and tenacity to see tasks and projects through to a conclusion.
  • Good knowledge of accounting software, Netsuite would be beneficial.
  • Experience of a fast-paced department and proven ability to adapt to change.
  • Previous experience within the online gaming industry would be an advantage.
