Description

Reporting to the Treasury and AP Manager, the main duties of the Treasury & Accounts Payable Assistant include matching and coding invoices, obtaining approvals from budget holders, preparing and running BACS payments and performing other ad hoc tasks. The Treasury & Accounts Payable Assistant, working as part of the finance team, will provide a professional and efficient service to the business.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Ensure all invoices are checked, coded, and matched with POs prior to posting to an accounting system and paid in a timely manner. Where no PO, ensuring invoices are authorized by the relevant budget holders.
  • Ensure supplier accounts are reviewed and reconciled on a regular basis.
  • Review unpaid aged creditors on a timely basis.
  • Deal with supplier queries on a proactive, prompt, and efficient manner.
  • Prepare payment runs with the relevant supporting documents and adhering to the suppliers’ payment terms.
  • Execute various types of payment across multiple banking systems using multiple currencies, ensuring all payments are made timely and accurately, working to ensure effective controls are maintained.
  • Daily download of multiple bank statements and weekly bank reconciliations.
  • Processing and reconciling all credit card statements.
  • Contribute to the timely production of the monthly management accounts in relation to the purchase ledger.
  • Assist finance team and management with other finance tasks as required.

Person Specification, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills.
  • Reliable individual with a self-driven personality and a “can do” attitude.
  • Good knowledge of accounting software.
  • Experience of multi-currency transactions.
  • Experience of a fast-paced department and ability to work to tight month end deadlines.
  • Knowledge of UK/EU VAT rules would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience within the online gaming industry is preferred, but not essential.
