As the NOC Team Leader, you will play a critical role in leading a team of skilled Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineers in ensuring the optimal performance, uptime, and security of BVGroup's global revenue and corporate infrastructure.

You will be responsible the management and administration of day-to-day operations of the NOC team, ensuring that they provide best-in-class service to the business.

Additionally, you will manage and coordinate with 3rd party vendors to ensure that all monitoring and alerting systems are properly configured, documented, escalated, and prioritized to run effectively.

As the primary point of contact for the business, you will be responsible for managing and resolving any business-impacting incidents and providing full support to the Technology teams and head of departments. With your leadership, the NOC team will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of BVGroup's infrastructure.

What you will be doing:

  • Leveraging all available resources, monitoring tools, and applications to guarantee high levels of service availability for all BVGroups global core network, cloud, server infrastructure and internal/external services.
  • Ensuring the team are capable of meeting or exceeding service level agreements (SLAs) as defined by business requirements as well as the diagnosis and resolution of incident tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Motivating and administering a diverse team to continually improve and grow.
  • Monitoring and identifying potential security threats from multiple data sources and taking appropriate action to mitigate them.
  • Engendering a team with the ability to lead the communication between internal teams or third-party vendors to resolve complex issues.
  • Ensuring that compliance standards are upheld within the technology stacks.
  • Providing initial troubleshooting and collaborating with Technology teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Having a 360-degree vision of the live environment to aid in providing a rapid response to any live issues.
  • Sustaining accurate records and documentation of all processes, procedures, and incidents for analysis.
  • Maintaining a current knowledge base of best practices and procedures to ensure effective problem-solving.
  • Working closely with the Head of Systems Operations to produce thorough Incident Reports (IR) analysis on major incidents and creating detailed reports.
  • Managing and controlling problem escalation procedures in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOP).

Person Specification, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Possessing strong leadership and management experience, with a track record of effectively leading and mentoring.
  • Proficient in both the verbal and written communication of the English language, enabling effective collaboration and documentation.
  • Proven ability to quickly acquire and apply new technologies and procedures through self-directed training.
  • Skilled in creating comprehensive, detailed technical and process documentation.
  • Adept at working within strict guidelines and timeframes, while managing multiple streams of work simultaneously.
  • Having the ability and confidence to take independent actions and calculated decisions at key times.
  • Have a working knowledge of virtualisation, cloud technologies and networking architecture.                        

Desirable:

  • Possess industry-recognized certifications within cloud, networking or Microsoft technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in the dynamic and fast-paced sports betting industry.
  • Proven background in 24/7 Network Operations Centre (NOC) or Security Operations Centre (SOC), or similar.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Icinga, Grafana, Prometheus, Catchpoint, and Kibana.
  • Have an awareness of DevOps toolsets such as GitLab, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
  • Proficient in utilizing project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • A track record of success in both working independently and collaborating effectively as a team member.
