Management Accountant | Gibraltar | On-site
Reporting to the Finance Controller: The Management Accountant will assist with the accounting for the P&L and related balance sheet accounts for multiple entities across the group. This person will build knowledge of the player cycle, revenue generating activities, direct costs and CAPEX.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Direct Costs
- Interact with the business to accurately calculate and allocate cost by brand and region.
- Ensure the correct calculation of fees by supplier.
- Provide detailed analysis with actuals versus forecast and help guide business decision making.
Revenue Generating Activities
- Reconciliation of balance sheet related gaming activity accounts.
Player Cycle Accounting
- Reconciliation of player balances liaising with the PSP team and BI department to resolve any discrepancies.
- Managing the control accounts related to the gaming cycle making sure these are clearing correctly on a regular basis.
Capex
- Calculate software development costs by interacting with the I.T Team.
- Amortize to correct brand and region.
Systems, Controls and Other
- Building knowledge of the gaming platform and other internal reporting systems.
- Provide support and analysis to the Financial Planning & Analysis team on all areas relating to direct costs.
- Provide support with direct cost related queries during annual audit and any additional ad hoc audit requirements.
- Contribute to projects and implementations across the finance department and the wider business as required.
- Provide cover for the rest of the finance team as and when required.
Month End Accounting
- Posting journal entries in the accounting system accurately.
- Provide support in reviewing P&L across all entities, cost centres and brands.
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
Person Specification, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualified /part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or AAT qualified.
- Good technical accounting knowledge.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- A proactive approach: you should be motivated to take the initiative to make improvements. • Good understanding of financial principles and an ability to explain these to non-finance stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and tenacity to see tasks and projects through to a conclusion.
- Good knowledge of accounting software, Netsuite would be beneficial.
- Experience of a fast-paced department and proven ability to adapt to change.
- Previous experience within the online gaming industry would be an advantage.
