Data Engineer | EU/UK - Remote

We are looking for a Data Engineer to become part of our growing Business Intelligence team. You will work closely with our Data Analysts, Data Scientists who sit within the Business Intelligence team, along with various software engineers in our technology teams.

Expected responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain our Data Warehouse including ETL pipelines, monitoring of all inputs into the Data Warehouse for unexpected behaviour.
  • Data modelling and data governance, working closely with our Data Analysts and Data Science teams to understand how they are utilising the Data Warehouse.
  • Building and maintaining new production services that integrate into the rest of the company’s technology stack and provide critical business services.
  • Improving and upgrading the Data Science stack, including resilience and other technical debt.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and data analysts on their projects, particularly on the design of tools and data models, and other technical aspects.
  • Contribute to business projects that have engineering implications, particularly on the design of tools and data models, and ensuring that engineering requirements of a project are properly defined.

Person profile:

Essential

  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with a cloud platform, we use GCP but experience with others is fine
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab)
  • Experience with relational database structure and expert with SQL

Nice to Have

  • Experience with NoSQL, we use MongoDB and Firestore.
  • Experience with message queue systems (e.g. Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ)
  • Experience with scheduling tools like Airflow, Luigi or similar.
  • Experience configuring cloud infrastructure using Terraform or similar.
  • Ideally knowledge of sports betting and familiarity with gaming data.
