Assistant Management Accountant | Gibraltar | On-site
Reporting to the Finance Controller: The Assistant Management Accountant will join the Financial Control team within the Finance Department and assist with the accounting for the P&L and related balance sheet accounts for multiple entities across the group. We are looking for someone with good understanding of core management accounting concepts such as accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations etc. Over time this person will build comprehensive knowledge of Opex costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost accounting:
- Periodic reporting of all costs including allocating these accurately across all brands and cost centres.
- Interacting with the rest of the business to calculate non-direct cost accruals (legal fees, facilities, regulatory, etc)
- Performing checks to ensure that supplier invoices are correct and providing support to approving managers so they can understand their costs.
Systems, Controls and Other:
- Building knowledge of NetSuite and other internal reporting systems.
- Provide support and analysis to the Financial Planning & Analysis team on all areas relating to operational expenditure.
- Provide support with operational cost-related queries during annual audit and any additional ad hoc audit requirements.
- Contribute to projects and implementations across the finance department and the wider business as required.
- Provide cover for the rest of the finance team as and when required.
Person Specification, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or AAT qualified or genuine intention to study towards a qualification.
- Good technical accounting knowledge.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- A proactive approach: you should be motivated to take the initiative to make improvements.
- Good understanding of financial principles and an ability to explain these to non-finance stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and tenacity to see tasks and projects through to a conclusion.
- Good knowledge of accounting software, NetSuite would be beneficial.
- Experience of a fast-paced department and proven ability to adapt to change.
- Previous experience within the online gaming industry would be an advantage.
