Purpose of the role:
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will take ownership of the balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow for multiple entities within a high-performing finance function. This person will be responsible for preparing management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and robust data integrity of the underlying accounting records.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Month End Accounting
- Working with the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely accounting records across multiple entities, brands and cost centres
- P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and KPI reporting with commentary on variances
- Ensuring Balance Sheet Reconciliations maintained to a high standard, including:
- Fixed Asset Register
- Clearing Control Accounts
- Accruals/Prepayments
- Monitoring and clearing intercompany balances
- Capturing and reconciling the player balance cycle
Commercial Finance
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual cashflow forecasts
- Support Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
Regulatory Reporting/Submissions
- Liaising with BI and Compliance teams to provide regulatory reports to various jurisdictions by relevant deadlines
- Ensuring that all regulatory related transactions and balances are accurately calculated and reflected in the accounting records
Systems, Controls and Other
- Maintain the accounting system, recommend improvements and test changes
- Ownership of the Chart of Accounts
- Processing the postings to consolidated companies
- Regular review of AP aged analysis with Treasury/AP team with commentary on outliers
- Contribute to projects and implementations across the finance department and the wider business as required
Person Specification, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or qualified by experience.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- A proactive approach: you should be motivated to take the initiative to make improvements.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and an ability to explain these to non-finance stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and tenacity to see tasks and projects through to a conclusion.
- Experience of leading a team and in dealing with senior members of the finance and wider management team.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and/or ERP systems.
- Experience of a fast-paced department and proven ability to adapt to change.
- Previous experience within the online gaming industry is highly desirable.
